So, I don't like to get personal, but looks like I am about to...
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 6 months ago, and have now started getting more and more symptoms as my condition worsens. Super great, I know. For those who have the awesome disease, there is no cure. Once it starts, it can never be stopped completely. It can only be slowed down. But there will ALWAYS be new symptoms that come along. And just in my 2 years of having it, and 6 months of being diagnosed with it, I have experienced my fair share of weird and new symptoms..And what does this have to do with The Blonde who Bakes? Well, I'm getting to it.
Growing up, and really up to this point, I've been blessed beyond measure to eat WHATEVER THE HECK I wanted. Really. Whatever. Whenever.
I was an athlete growing up, and consider myself one still.. No I am not competing in the Olympics, but I am chasing two crazy toddler boys around all day long, as well as trying to run a Nationwide business. So by the end of the day, I feel like I have trained like an Olympic Athlete. (Maybe not quite Michael Phelps-ish... But close!)
When it came to food, I loved ALL breads, pastas, because of the carb loading before races. Us as runners L I V E D off of anything with carbs or grains in it. And me as a person, well growing up in a house with a mom as a baker, I was SPOILED to know all of the good stuff (as in desserts) at a young age.
DESSERTS in my book were pretty much what I looked forward to in a meal. Actually they ARE what I look forward to at a meal.
I could go for anything chocolate. Chocolate Molten Cake. Chocolate Fudge Brownies. Chocolate Eclairs. Or, on the other side, I LOVE pies. Banana Cream Pie. Pumpkin Pie. Cheesecake. Sugar Cookies. Cotton Candy. Fruit Tarts. Caramel.
Ok if we are just being honest... between you and me, I could eat ANYTHING sweet. Sad I know, but true.
But all in all, I guess it is a pretty god thing that I like sweet things, considering that I run a business solely based on baked goods. So I have that going for me...
But here is the sad news. The entire reason I am writing this personal post...
Looks like I have a Gluten Intolerance/Allergy.
Yes. I am a baker. And I have a Gluten Allergy. Is there a Glutens Anonymous?!
I am having MAJOR withdraws. Not so much physically, but mentally. It's the fact that I can't eat my favorite things anymore. I know I can make them a different way. At least most of them, its just a MAJOR change.
So, I wanted to let you guys know that I will be posting a lot of my favorite GLUTEN FREE DESSERT recipes on here. I will try to keep it weekly.
Who knows, you might get multiple per week... depending on the cravings. ;)
So, if you have a favorite GLUTEN FREE dessert recipe that you would like me to test out, please send it over!
If we love your recipe, we will post about it, and tag you in our post.
Thanks for the read!!!
