I have always loved banana bread. And so when my mom passed down her banana bread recipe to me when I got married I could not wait to share it with my own family.
And so naturally, because I love this recipe so much, I had to share with you guys. Enough talking, let’s get to the real reason you’re here…. The recipe.

Banana Bread Recipe

Bake Temp: 320°F
Bake Time: 45-50 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
1 Stick of butter
1.5 C Granulated Sugar
1.5 C Light Brown Sugar

1/2 Tsp vanilla
2 Large Eggs
1/4 C of Sour Cream or Vanilla Greek Yogurt
4 very ripe bananas

2 C All Purpose Flour
1 Tsp baking soda
1 Tsp cinnamon
1/2 Tsp cloves
Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS:
-Cream butter & Sugars together until creamy. 2-3 minutes in medium/high speed

-Slow mixer down and add in ingredients.
Add in the dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until fully incorporated 2-3 more minutes

-Pour in your large bread pans (this recipe makes 2 full pans), bake at 320° F for 45-50 minutes.

***To make your bread even more amazing,
Prep your large bread pans by spraying with non stick spray on ALL surfaces of the pan.
After spraying, sprinkle “Turbinado Cane Sugar” on the sides and base of the pan where you have sprayed your non stick spray.

-Once you have evenly distributed the batter in your large baking pans that have been sprinkled with the sugar, top your batter with a mixture of Turbinado Sugar, Oatmeal & Cinnamon. ***

Bake at 320° F for 45-50 minutes.

Let it cool for about an hour and enjoy!!!!

I followed the recipe even though I thought 3 cups of sugar (half white and half brown) was way too much for one stick of butter and 2 cups of flour. They’re not done yet and look horrible and made a mess in the oven. Are the amounts correct?
